SMART MALAYSIA DEBUTS SMART#1 BRABUS EV AT IEMS

smart Malaysia has officially unveiled its flagship electric vehicle (EV) lineup, the smart #1 Brabus, its first public debut in Southeast Asia at the International Electric Mobility Showcase (IEMS) here.

Proton New Energy Technology Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Zhang Qiang said the Brabus model crowns the three variant line-up of the group's first model, the smart #1.

“smart Malaysia's participation at IEMS also showcases the company's commitment towards helping Malaysia achieve its long-term net-zero emissions goals. 

“As we approach our official quarter-four launch, we have many more exciting developments in the pipeline that will redefine the EV ownership experience," he said in a statement.

The smart #1 Brabus variant is designed for high-performance enthusiasts, boasting a remarkable 0-100 kilometre per hour acceleration time of 3.9 seconds. 

Under the hood, the performance is delivered by a 315 kilowatt or 543 newton-metre (Nm) dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain, delivering unrivalled agility and traction for an exhilarating supercar experience.

According to the company, the tentative pricing for the smart #1 Pro, Premium and Brabus – with sales and service tax (on the road, without insurance) ranges from RM200,000 to RM250,000.
