Small-scale farmers and rubber tappers have been reminded to avail themselves of the Bantuan Musim Tengkujuh (BMT) program, which began accepting applications on June 15.

Shatiri Mansor, the incumbent state assemblyman for Kota Damansara, emphasised that the program aims to alleviate the financial burden on these groups due to unpredictable weather conditions.

He assured that the Unity Government is committed to monitoring and ensuring the welfare of smallholders and rubber tappers across the country.

The application period for the assistance will continue for three months, concluding on September 15, as announced by the government.

Eligible individuals can apply in person at any Rubber Industry Smallholders Development Authority office or online through https://budget.mof.gov.my/manfaat/faq/bmt-risda.html, or at https://pekebunkecil.risda.gov.my/permohonan-bmt.

Starting this year, the BMT amount has been raised from RM600 to RM800, which will be disbursed from November to February 2024.
