International travellers' top picks for lodging included 174 properties in Malaysia
Agoda, a digital travel agency, said that 174 Malaysian lodging properties made it onto international travellers' lists of the best places to stay.

This places Malaysia among the top five winning nations at the recently concluded 14th annual Agoda Gold Circle Awards (GCA).

According to Agoda, Malaysia ranked fifth with 174 standout hotels that did not fail to impress.

This year's Gold Circle Awards was presented to more than 2000 properties in 41 markets, with travel markets opening up to international travel worldwide.

Aside from Malaysia, Thailand retained its top spot for the fourth consecutive year, with Taiwan, China soaring to the second spot followed by Japan. Meanwhile, India entered the Top 10 list for the first time while South Korea, the United States, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Vietnam retained their spots in the top ten rankings.

In addition, China recorded the highest number of properties that won awards for four consecutive years, followed by the Philippines, Thailand, Japan, Taiwan, China, Maldives, Vietnam, Indonesia, and South Korea.

Agoda said that the awards are presented to properties that have proven their place among the best, providing excellent value, pricing, service excellence, and flexibility to guests.
