Pantai and Gleneagles Hospitals launched a virtual consultation platform called eHealth Video Consultation recently, allowing patients to seek medical consultation from specialists of their choice at the comfort of their own home.
Parkway Pantai chief executive officer of Malaysia Operations Division Jean-Francois Naa said while it's safe for patients to visit the hospitals, the online consultation provides convenience to those who are unable to visit the hospital for whatever reason.
"We live in uncertain times but access to quality healthcare should not be compromised," he said.
To book an appointment via the eHealth Video Consultation platform, patients simply need to complete several steps.
First, visit the hospital's eHealth Video Consultation appointment page, then select the preferred specialist, date and time slot.
Next, the patient will be asked to created their eHealth account using their mobile number and fill up patient details.
Lastly, the appointment will be confirmed via SMS upon receipt of payment with options of online banking, credit or debit card and eWallet.
On the day of consultation, patients would need to log on to the eHealth website and click 'enter video room' for the scheduled consultation.
In addition to online consultation, patients can also opt to have their medications delivered to their doorstep or arrange pick-up at the hospital.
