Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) and the Professional Services Productivity Nexus (PSPN) have launched a programme aimed at helping professional service companies deal with high operating costs through the adaptation of technology use.

The pilot project, called “Productivity Step-Up”, is being implemented with the target of reducing five to 10% of the operating cost of the professional services industry which includes the fields of engineering, accounting, architecture and law, MPC said in a statement.

“Initiatives under PSPN are aimed at increasing productivity and improving governance at the enterprise level.

“These efforts are also expected to offset the increase in business operating costs which are currently burdening industry players,” said MPC deputy director general Zahid Ismail.

He added that PSPN has plans to expand the Productivity Step-Up initiative to other industries in the service subsectors soon.
