MATRADE'S KNOWLEDGE HUB TO SHINE SPOTLIGHT ON GLOBAL INDUSTRY INSIGHTS AT MIHAS 2023
The Malaysia International Halal Showcase 2023 (MIHAS 2023) is set to become a more enriching and informative event this year as the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) is set to unveil its much-anticipated “Knowledge Hub” platform.
MATRADE said “this dynamic platform aims to provide a comprehensive perspective on the challenges and opportunities within the global halal industry, featuring an impressive lineup of experts and thought leaders.”
“This shows our commitment to providing a platform for sharing knowledge and then transforming it into actionable insights which can propel the industry toward progress.
“The involvement of experts from various countries underscores our dedication to fostering a comprehensive discourse that encompasses global viewpoints,” Datuk Mohd Mustafa Abdul Aziz, the chief executive officer of MATRADE, said in a statement.
Underlining MIHAS 2023's role as a platform to foster knowledge exchange and collaboration, the Knowledge Hub will be moderated by prominent business leaders representing chambers of commerce and trade associations.
As one of the central highlights, Knowledge Hub will hold "meet the experts" sessions where premium buyers will discuss sourcing opportunities and requirements for Malaysian companies to participate in the supply chains of markets.
“The sessions will also feature inspired Malaysian exporters who have successfully been making inroads in those markets to share their insights and success stories of their export journey.
“The topics covered during the Meet the Experts sessions will also encompass business challenges and issues including the adoption of digitalisation and sustainability, which are critical to the industry in navigating complex regulatory landscapes and cultural nuances to establish a foothold in foreign markets,” MATRADE said. Moreover, the discussions will delve into the valuable experiences of both buyers and sellers engaged in cross-border trade.
“This exchange of insights will provide a 360-degree perspective on the intricacies of international business transactions within the halal industry, shedding light on best practices, pitfalls to avoid, and success stories to emulate,” it added.
MIHAS 2023 is hosted by the Ministry of Investment, Trade, and Industry (Miti) and organised by MATRADE.
MIHAS is the world's largest showcase dedicated to the halal industry, and this year marks its 19th series, which will be held from 12th-15th September at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), Kuala Lumpur.
