Malaysia's total trade up 8.6% y-o-y to RM236b in December — DOSM

Malaysia’s total trade in December 2022 amounted to RM236.0 billion, an increase of 8.6% year-on-year (y-o-y), with exports rising 6.0% to RM131.9 billion, while imports rose 12.0% to RM104.1 billion, said the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) on 27th January.

马来西亚统计局(DOSM) 1月27日表示，马来西亚2022年12月的贸易总额达2360亿令吉，同比增长8.6%，其中出口增长6.0%至1319亿令吉，进口增长12.0%至1041亿令吉。

Chief statistician Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Uzir Mahidin said Malaysia’s total trade recorded a new milestone at RM2.8 trillion in 2022.

首席统计师Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Uzir Mahidin博士表示，马来西亚的贸易总额在 2022 年创下了 2.8 万亿令吉的新里程碑。

Meanwhile, the export performance by states showed that exports in December increased RM7.5 billion or 6.0% y-o-y.

与此同时，各州的出口表现显示，12 月份的出口同比增长 75 亿令吉或 6.0%。

“Higher exports were recorded in most states, such as Johor (+RM4.3 billion), Sarawak (+RM2.2 billion), Selangor (+RM1.4 billion), Labuan (+RM1.4 billion), Negeri Sembilan (+RM264.1 million), Perak (+RM230.1 million), and Kedah (+RM184.0 million),” he said in a statement.

“大部分州属的出口均录得增长，例如柔佛（+43 亿令吉）、砂拉越（+22 亿令吉）、雪兰莪（+14 亿令吉）、纳闽（+14 亿令吉）、森美兰（ +2.641 亿令吉）、霹雳州（+2.301 亿令吉）和吉打州（+1.84 亿令吉），”他在一份声明中说。

As for other states, Melaka recorded an increase in exports of RM97.9 million, followed by Kelantan (+RM92.9 million), Kuala Lumpur (+RM64.8 million), and Perlis (+RM14.3 million).

至于其他州属，马六甲的出口增加了 9790 万令吉，其次是吉兰丹（+9290 万令吉）、吉隆坡（+6480 万令吉）和玻璃市（+1430 万令吉）。 

However, Mohd Uzir noted that exports decreased for Sabah (-RM1.7 billion), Pahang (-RM563.3 million), Terengganu (-RM531.0 million), and Penang (-RM93.3 million).

然而，Mohd Uzir 指出沙巴（-17 亿令吉）、彭亨（-5.633 亿令吉）、登嘉楼（-5.31 亿令吉）和槟城（-9330 万令吉）的出口下降。

Looking at the performance of imports by states, he noted that imports also increased RM11.2 billion or 12.0% y-o-y in December, due to higher imports in most states, such as Johor (+RM5.1 billion), Selangor (+RM2.7 billion), and Melaka (+RM1.8 billion).

Among the top five major exporting states, the chief statistician said Penang remained as the top exporter, with a share of 30.8%, followed by Johor (19.2%), Selangor (17.8%), Sarawak (9.1%), and Kuala Lumpur (4.7%).

As for imports, Selangor was the largest contributor, with a share of 27.2%, followed by Penang (21.9%), Johor (20.8%), Kuala Lumpur (6.6%), and Kedah (5.8%).

在进口方面，雪兰莪是最大的贡献者，占27.2%，其次是槟城（21.9%）、柔佛（20.8%）、吉隆坡（6.6%）和吉打（5.8%）。
